Clinical Consultants (CCs) are registered nurses with extensive clinical experience, who have received advanced training in the administration and management of REBETRON® Combination Therapy containing REBETOL® (Ribavirin, USP) Capsules and INTRON® A (Interferon alfa-2b, recombinant) Injection, PEG-INTRON® (peginterferon alfa-2b) Powder for Injection as well as INTRON® A (Interferon alfa-2b, recombinant) for Injection. Clinical Consultants are available to provide education to you and your staff on potential side effects of these therapies.

Schering Corporation developed the comprehensive training program for Clinical Consultants after researching and defining the most commonly asked questions associated with PEG-INTRON/REBETOL Combination Therapy. They are available to help your staff learn to manage these associated issues effectively and efficiently, and can educate your staff regarding:

Appropriate dose preparations
Administering therapy
Teaching self-injection techniques
Counseling patients on potential side effects and their management
Facilitating community recommendations to support programs

Clinical Consultants also provide voluntary education programs for patients identified by their physicians as able to benefit from additional education regarding their drug therapy.
