REBETRON™ Combination Therapy containing REBETOL® (Ribavirin, USP) Capsules and INTRON® A (Interferon alfa–2b, recombinant) Injection

REBETRON Combination Therapy is a treatment option for chronic hepatitis C patients. It is used as either initial therapy or in patients who relapsed following treatment with alpha interferon alone. REBETRON Combination Therapy is a combination of REBETOL®, an antiviral agent, and INTRON® A, a manufactured form of interferon. Interferon is a protein made naturally by your body to boost your immunity and regulate other cell functions. With this combination, REBETOL® is taken in capsule form and INTRON® A is taken as an injection.

Finding effective therapy for chronic hepatitis C patients has been a continual challenge for researchers and pharmaceutical companies. With this treatment, chronic hepatitis C patients have another option for improving their health.

See "Benefits of Combination Therapy" to learn how, in clinical trials, REBETRON Combination Therapy helped almost half of relapsed chronic hepatitis C patients experience a loss of detectable hepatitis virus and improve liver function.

REBETRON Combination Therapy could cause serious birth defects and harm (including death) to your unborn fetus. If you or your partner are pregnant, you should not receive REBETRON Combination Therapy. Pregnancy should not be planned while you or your partner are on therapy and for 6 months after therapy.
