Benefits of REBETRON Combination Therapy

In previously untreated patients:

In clinical trials with REBETRON Combination Therapy, 40% of patients who were treated with 48 weeks of REBETRON Combination Therapy had undetectable virus levels as compared to 15% of patients who were treated with 48 weeks of INTRON® A alone.

In patients treated with interferon who have relapsed:

Before being approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the safety and effectiveness of REBETRON Combination Therapy were evaluated in two clinical trials. Participating in the trials were chronic hepatitis C patients who had received treatment with INTRON® A but relapsed after having an initial response to the therapy. In almost half of these patients, 6 months of REBETRON Combination Therapy resulted in a loss of detectable hepatitis C virus as well as improvement in the condition of the liver, representing a significant improvement compared with interferon treatment alone.

Ninety-four percent of the relapsed chronic hepatitis C patients who took part in clinical trials for REBETRON Combination Therapy completed their course of therapy.
