remain healthy and strong. Take care of your body, mind, and spirit, and
continue to take precautions that will help prevent spreading your disease
to
others.
- Keep using birth control for 6 months after your therapy is
finished. Women or female partners of male patients must not get pregnant
for 6
months after completing therapy.
- Abstain from alcohol, caffeine, tobacco, recreational
(illegal)
drugs, and any other toxic substances.
- Check with your doctor before taking any prescription or
over-the-counter medication, vitamins, or herbal
supplements.
- See your doctor regularly to monitor the health of your
liver.
- Tell your doctor if you experience any new or worsening
symptoms, including depression.
- Ask your doctor about others steps you can take to protect
yourself from further liver damage, such as immunization against hepatitis
A
and B.
- Drink plenty of fluids.
- Eat a nutritious, well-balanced diet.
- Get plenty of rest.
- Adopt a regular exercise program.
- Reduce stress by meditating or practicing other relaxation
techniques.
